Gold 5-Anchor Clean Marine Rating

Starport Marina is now part of an elite group of Ontario marinas to achieve Gold 5-Anchor Clean Marine status by the OMOA (Ontario Marine Operators Association).

The Gold 5-Anchor Clean Marine designation recognizes marinas that have followed a strict set of guidelines to achieve 'Best Environmental Practices' above and beyond the standard 5-Achor Rating.

Starport Marina worked diligently in numerous areas to achieve this designation including:

• Marina and some of its employees have proof of attending and OMOA approved Spills Containment Course.
• Marina has over 90% of lighting converted to compact fluorescents or high efficiency lighting.
• Marina has educated its customers/members on Clean Marine eco-rating program with a minimum of 3 communication pieces provided to customers/members over the course of the season.
• Marina has all guest members/transients sign an environmental commitment pledge.
• Marina has proof that employee training includes an environmental awareness component, including awareness of clean marine program.
• Marina has converted workboats and any rental fleet to new technology engines
• Marina has proof on in house 3rd party waste audits showing year over year improvements.
• Marina has no visible derelict boats on premises.
